Photoshoot with Dani

Shooting weddings can be pretty stressful sometimes, and every now and then I need a break. Don't get me wrong, I love shooting weddings, and families, and sports, but just like everyone, I need some me time. Which is exactly why I decided to collaborate with Dani. Dani is a pretty great person who I have never worked with before, and I love how my photos of her turned out.

We decided to our shoot in downtown Oceanside, right south of Camp Pendleton. There they have one of the longest piers on the west coast, and usually draws a decent crowd, especially during summer, and that is what I wanted to capture in some of the photos. I wanted to have a sense of detachment from the rest of the crowd, which thanks to wide open apertures, was pretty easy to achieve.

As the light faded, we decided to switch gears We had Dani change into a black romper, and went underneath a bridge with some cool, simple lines. I brought out my flash, and bounced it around, which lent itself to making some interesting slighting effects.

Afterwards, we moved into the corner of a stairwell, which although didn't smell the best, resulted in some killer shots.

Renee and Brendan's Wedding

I've always liked telling stories, but I haven't always been the best with words. Recounting an entire day full of love and magic is much easier when you have a wonderful couple like Brendan and Rene to work with. The story of their love for one another flowed from one second to another during their amazing wedding day, from the First Look, all the way to the very last dance, you could feel exactly how much they meant to one another. Chocolate and Art Show

So this weekend I had the tremendous opportunity to take place in the Los Angeles Chocolate and Art Show. It was an amazing experience where I got to see many different styles of art, as well as showing off some of my personal work. There were bands, body painting, and a variety of different styles that totally fueled my imagination for my next show.

The series that I displayed was called "Breath of Life", a 3 part series of self portraits. This series totally killed my lungs, as I seem to have an obsession with smoke and the way it looks, seeing how this is the second series I have done with smoke/vapor. Well, enough description, heres the series that I had displayed, you can check out more of my work at www.Jackdphotos.com!
